| What is Predict & Win? |
Predict & Win is a skill-based cricket game. Use your knowledge of the game, and your rating of the teams, to predict various possibilities: who will win the featured match, who will score the most runs or get the most wickets - the possibilities are endless.
| How do I sign up to play Predict & Win? |
If you use any of the Rediff services - email, connexions, etc - you already have a Rediff ID, which is valid for Predict & Win. If you don't have a Rediff ID, sign up - it's free, simple, and quick.
As soon as you sign up - or sign in for the first time - you will be given 10,000 points, which is your bank. The more points you win, the higher you go up the gaming ladder.

| What are the minimum and maximum points that I can put on a prediction? |
You can put a minimum of 10 points, and a maximum of 999 points, on a single prediction.
| What is the meaning of 5 points will get you 3? |
Every possibility highlighted in the game has a point scheme attached to it. These are the 'odds'. For example, suppose you want to predict the outcome of India versus Bangladesh 1st ODI. If the scheme says (Please note, this is an example - the actual scheme could be different) 5 points will get you 3, it means that if you stake 10 of your points (the minimum permitted) on India defeating Bangladesh, say, you get 6 points back if your prediction comes true. That is to say, you get a total of 16 points at the end of the game, if India wins - the 10 points you staked, plus the six you won. Obviously, the more you stake the more you win: if you put 50 points on an India win in this example, you get 80 points back (the 50 you placed, plus the 30 you won).
| Does the point scheme for a particular prediction change in the course of time? |
Yes, it does. For instance, before the series begins, the various schemes would be based on past performance. But as the series begins and the teams begin playing, you get a better idea of current form, and the schemes would change accordingly. For instance, the scheme for India versus Bangladesh would be based on past performance. But as we come closer to the day the two teams will meet each other, many things could happen: key Indian players might run out of form or be injured, in which case the scheme would become weighted in favor of Bangladesh ; or key Bangladesh players might have form and fitness issues, putting the game more in favor of India. So the scheme will change to reflect changed conditions; it helps even after staking your points on a particular outcome to come back to the page and keep checking - as the schemes change, you might find them even more conducive to win big.

| Is Predict & Win gambling? |
No. Predict & Win is a skill-based sports game - much like Fantasy Cricket, or Super Selector, or any such. You win or lose points, but these points are not convertible into any form of currency; there is no money involved at any stage. Predict & Win doesn't promote gambling or sports betting in any manner.
| Can I convert the points to real money? |
In a word, no. You think you know cricket; we all do. Predict & Win is a fun way to show off that knowledge. Examine the games, the options, see if you can guess the various outcomes, put your points where your mouth is, and the more you win, the more it underlies your skill in forecasting the game. You don't get any money at any stage - this is purely for fun, for prestige.
| So what are the various possibilities that I can predict? |
The list is endless. You can predict things like:
Series Winner - ODIs
Most 6s - ODIs
Best Batsman - ODIs
Best Bowler(Wickets) - ODIs
The list is endless, and as the Cup progresses, more possibilities will be added, so keep coming back to check. See all battles you can predict on: Click here

| What is "Tag Me"? |
You will find some players doing better than others. Tag them, and you can monitor their predictions as they make them; this in turn helps you make informed decisions on which schemes to play. Each time you tag another player, you pay him or her a one time fee of 100 points, which are deducted from your account and added to that of the player you tagged.
| I keep getting "AWAITING" as the status against my predictions. What does that mean? |
It means that the results for your prediction are yet to be announced. Remember that predictions are at two levels. At the micro level, you can make predictions on various eventualities of the match of the day - and when the match is over and the results are in, you know what you have won or lost.
There are also the larger predictions. For instance, suppose you predicted who will win the Cup. The status against that prediction will read 'Awaiting', till the Cup is over, because it is only then that you know.
So 'Awaiting' basically means that the game or outcome you placed a prediction on hasn't been completed yet. Get started! Predict..Play..Win: Click here
