| 2007 | Starts year serving as Super Aguri test driver and competing in GP2. Lands Spyker race seat from August's Hungarian race after departure of Christijan Albers. |
| 2006 | Competes in Formula Nippon and Super GT in Japan before joining Super Aguri as third driver in time for British Grand Prix. Promoted to race seat from Germany onwards, taking over from Yuji Ide's interim replacement, Franck Montagny. |
| 2005 | Makes Formula One test debut with Jordan at Silverstone then serves as team's third driver at Japanese Grand Prix. Tenth overall in Formula Nippon series, with one podium finish. One victory in Japanese Super GT. |
| 2004 | Seventh overall in Japanese Formula Three championship, with one win in Motegi and a further four podiums. |
| 2003 | Contests European Formula Three series, with highest-placed finishes of ninth at Le Mans and Adria races. |
| 2002 | German Formula Three championship. |
| 2001 | Fourth overall in Japanese Formula Three championship in first season of single-seater racing. Also contends two rounds of British F3 series, plus Marlboro Masters and Macau Grand Prix. |
